Editing photographs has become extremely easy for individuals these days. While some benefits are associated with this, I consider it to be overall a negative trend.
The main advantage is due to development in software which has improved the lives of people.
People have easy access to all the editing platforms such as Pics art , Snapseed,and Canvas which are often free or affordable,cutting the cost of proffesional services or expensive equipments. These softwares provide peope with high-quality and satisfactory images without putting considerable effort. Additionally, easy editing has led to more work efficiency. Majority of people who are engaged in digital marketing for various companies could be benefitted the most as well edited photos are more engaging and hence could draw attention of people for longer time leading to increase in customers for their brands.
However,in my view, easy editing of pictures is not a good thing.Firstly, It could be misused by some people. It is because people can edit pictures for promoting vulgarity and nudity ,affecting the minds of vulnerable youth. Moreover, some people could alter some important facts and figures which could mislead the audience.Secondly,editing leads to some unrealistic expectations. Several social media influencers tend of enhance their appearance by photoshopping their pictures. These pictures often illustrates fake body shapes or perfect skin texture which usually leads to low self esteem among the people who idolize them.
In conclusion,effortless editing of photographs these days is an unfavorable development despite some merits.
