In addition, those who work online spend less on travel, meals, and business attire, while companies reduce expenses tied to office maintenance. For example, a tech startup might allow employees to work off-site and use the saved budget to upgrade digital tools or offer extra training, leading to better overall results.
On the other hand, opponents of this idea maintain that they lack face-to-face interaction with colleagues. Nonetheless, this can be addressed through frequent virtual check-ins and online group activities. For instance, a design team working from different locations might meet online weekly for casual chats to stay connected. Despite this challenge, the freedom and cost advantages make this way of working more beneficial overall. Therefore, I remain opposed to the idea of working on-site.
