These days, more and more people are providing their personal data on the internet in order to carry out their daily tasks, for example, banking, shopping or socializing. Despite the benefits for managing society it can offer, from my viewpoint, the drawbacks of the phenomenon completely outweigh the advantages.
First and foremost, exposing personal data poses a tremendous threat of cyber attack to the user. Interestingly, despite the rapid development of online security recently, the vulnerability of it is mainly responsible for the danger. There have been numerous cases in which the cyber criminals attack the internal data systems of massive companies around the world, resulting in the exposure of secret information, including credit cards and bank accounts, of millions of people and the financial loss of billions of dollars.
