Due to capitalism globally, the fact that the quality of life is falling particularly in metropolitan. The causes and answers pertaining to this topic will be discussed next in this essay.
The key reasons why the standard of living in the city is decreasing is due to the overcrowding because many people seek jobs in the capital and other opportunities such as education, business prospects, medical and so on. The pollution such as noise and air have been worsening especially in metropolitan like Shanghai, Beijing is clearly to be seen on the TV and across various social media. People have aspirations to achieve such as looking for betterment in their lives, getting good jobs with higher salary, entering to good schools or enjoying better healthcare facilities and public transports as well as pouching on positive business investment opportunities with higher Return On Investment (ROI), the ROI for business trading and real estate are typically higher in the metropolitan.
These are major concerns that I could think of for the city dwellers and there are solutions that Malaysian government is implementing to minimise the woes of the urban problems. These steps are based on Singapore’s Urban Planning strategy as a blueprint such as creating Satelite districts in Kuala Lumpur and other Klang Valley areas. The Satelite area means having all the facilities and infrastructures in a specific district such as hospitals, schools, banks , groceries and so on to prevent the influx of people to the city. This is a way of controlling the overcrowding in the city. This move proves to be successful in Singapore and many nations are following suit.
Lastly, the factors and the solutions have been highlighted in this essay. I predict that our Malaysian government may require more time to achieve this than Singapore due to the size of land in Malaysia and it needs massive money to be poured in to accomplish this. However, we have seen progress in addressing the overcrowding issues in Malaysia, specifically Klang Valley areas and I believe the government is on the right trajectory of improvement.
