These days, females’ sport programs broadcasted less than males’ sport. While this due to not only high demand to men’s sports, but also no one financially support women’s sports, however, in my opinion TV officials should equalize the transmission of both gender’s sport.
The lack of public interest to the females’ sport programs is the primary reason for this trend. From early years individuals tend to watch men’s sport programs, since they are much competitive as well as dramatic that grab people’s all attention. Due to this reason the majority advertisement companies invest males’ competition rather than others, while if no one support their sport programs, they suffer from financial burden, with causing declining the number of women’s sport programs. One prime example would be football, because absolutely in all sport channels transmit men’s football matches due to high interest of public to them; it brings them more audiences that makes them prestigious channels than others. This is because TV channels cannot regularly transmit the sports of women on the tv, as it leads to losing audiences at best, and the diminishing of the channel’s reputation at worst.
No matter how malicious it would be for tv channels, the government should coerce them to maintain the balance of both genders’ match numbers in order to provide gender equality among public. In other words, by this action, the audience may start interesting on female’s sport and this even would support them both financially and physically. Spain football federation proposal in 2019 can serve as a notable example, as they increase the number of females’ sport competitions in order to not only encourage young girls to engaging sport, but also promulgate the beauty and importance of women’s competitions to the world. As a result, by equalizing sport times, we can achieve gender equality and other benefits.
In conclusion, the main cause to this phenomenon is that men’s sport cover all populations interests, while I think TV channels should balance the time of matches.
