In today’s fast-paced world, where governments spend significant time and money on the education of children, funds are believed to be invested in young people’s leisure activities rather than focusing solely on education. While it may lead to decline in the quality of education, I contend that leisure activities are essential because they contribute to students’ mental well-being and develop social interaction skills.
First and foremost, free time plays a key role in students’ state. To provide further explanation, not only does engaging in leisure allow students to relax, thereby positively influencing their mental well-being , but also allows to know themselves better. For example, a student who enjoys jogging or cycling can improve both physical and mental health. As a result, they feel more energetic and motivated in their studies.
Secondly, leisure activities are beneficial for enhancing students’ communication skills. To make it clear, when students participate in group activities, they learn how to express their ideas clearly and listen to others. For instance, student participating in debate clubs are tend to speak more confidently compared to their peers who do not take part. Therefore, they are better prepared for teamworks and future professional relationships.
Overall, although some may think that leisure activities distract students from studying, they are known to have a positive impact on students development, such as mental health and interpersonal skills. Therefore, governments should continuing support activities for young people.
