It is often argued that there should be greater government funding for students’ leisure-time activities and that an overabundance of attention is given to students’ education. I completely agree with this opinion and think that students should have more free time.
First of all, free-time activities can alleviate students’ stress. These activities can improve a student’s mental and emotional health by reducing stress in his or her daily life. Furthermore, improved psychological health will lead to students’ becoming more productive and efficient in their studies. For example, a student relaxes after a difficult exam and feels ready to study and contribute in lessons. This is why it is more important for students to have more free time for relaxation.
Secondly, an increase in the quantity of free-time activities can create meaningful bonds between students and produce a productive and calm school environment. This will create a place where no student is bullied or harassed. For instance, students can clear up any negative misconceptions about their classmates and can use the time to become more socially capable and demonstrate their skills and hobbies. What is more, there will be less bullying and fewer worries for students.
To conclude, I strongly believe that the government should increase its expenditure on free-time activities for students. This is due to the improvement of students’ well-being and the creation of a more productive environment.
