There is a common opinion that authorities should focus on public services rather than investing on the arts. I totally disagree with this statement and believe that supporting music and theatre must also be part of the government policy.
Firstly, the arts help people to have some rest from the intensive routine of weekdays. The statement is actual in megapolises where people usually lack of social life due to their work and the cost of living. Therefore organizing cultural events such as theaters allows citizens to spend their free time with their family or friends. For instance, the arts is a commonly famous part of activity in Tashkent city, where tickets are sold out far before the event.
Secondly, music, theatre, and other cultural events help people to feel their unity while supporting the artists and actors. The arts are commonly used as a tool for propaganda when free concerts are organized during the public holidays to raise their public mood to the government policy.
All things considered, I can contend that the arts should have the same priority as public services as it can provide some rest from the intensive routine life and be used for propaganda
