In contemporary society, an increasing proportion of individuals are facing unemployment issues. There are different advantages and downsides ways of reducing the job week to thirty-five hours.

On the one hand, this issue has generated significant debate owing to its potential to impact on individuals’ future personal and professional lives, both negatively and positively. Nowadays, technology is developing rapidly and even replaced manual labor; therefore, the need for workers is decreasing for some companies. This affects people’s professional lives, such as earning little money and having trouble gaining experience.

Therefore, while it may open new doors for personal advancement, it can simultaneously create unforeseen challenges that demand careful consideration.

On the other hand, a growing body of research firmly believes that working constitutes a fundamental pillar of future societal development. Some people have numerous advantages to reducing their working hours. For instance, they have a lot of free time, and they dedicated a few hours to various sides, such as their captivating hobbies, parties with their family and most importantly, it creates an opportunity for self-study and development of one’s favorite profession. Therefore, employees should not work overtime, they should dedicate themselves to other essential private work. Moreover, to maximize its benefits, it must be implemented thoughtfully and inclusively, ensuring that no segment of workers’ life is left behind.

Taking everything into account, it can be concluded that short work hours play a fundamental and a crucial role in individuals’ both professional and personal lives, but not without its downsides.
