The trend of studying overseas has been increasing rapidly by university students as part of their degrees. Although students will often struggle with the cost while abroad, they will gain opportunities to enrich their connections in their field. In my opinion, students are far better off having studied in a different country despite the challenges they inevitably face.
The greatest benefit of studying abroad is that students will have life experiences that will allow them expand their networks which will become beneficial to them in the future. Being in an environment they have never lived in, it requires people to step out of their comfort zone into psychological states that they have to adapt no matter what. For example, when I joined an international school in Malaysia, I was continually encouraged to push myself far beyond my level of English, which led to rapid improvement in my second language. These inevitable challenges eventually lead to the main advantage of studying in a different part of the world, as they allow you to grow as a person.
In recent years, many tertiary students have been moving to foreign countries to pursue their studies. This way, students are able to adapt to a new environment with different cultural exposures while interacting with numerous individuals in their course, despite the potential costs. Considering both sides, it seems to me that the advantages of studying abroad are more compelling.
