Several concerns are arising due to the boom in tourism industry such as air pollution due to airlines, vehicles and cleanliness of water bodies. Therefore, the question arises for the government that what steps should be taken to reach to the solution.
Personally, I don’t think that imposing additional taxes on avaition & housing sector would be a great idea. Firstly, If the given ideas are taken into action, it will affect the middle class or people with less financial stabilty the most as then experiencing and enjoying a pleasent vacation with kids would unaffordable and will shatter their dreams. Whilst, it will not affect the high networth individuals much as it makes less significant difference to them or businesses could just write off their taxes and have fun.
Secondly,Tourism is heart of a country’s economy as their culture and values are highly promoted. Furthermore, GDP of many small & developing nations heavily rely on it. Also many local businesses flourish as the tourists come in large numbers, so the market is created, employement is created and it becomes their daily source of income.
Although, enviromental issues are relevant. Government should find innovative solutions to prevent the damage like strict regulations on air filters of the airplanes and other different mode of transport. While disposing waste in the water should be prohobited, alternative ways of decomposition needs to be found.
In my opinion, government should go for different approach. Thorough research and development need sto be done to achieve the desired solution.
