Band 6+: We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

I firmly believe that providing for those countries, who are in need or endangered, should be a principal priority for any major state’s foreign policy.

On the one hand, the main reason for this merciful position lays in the fact that a human needs to help another human being, when he demands one. This kind of approach can be applied to higher level of relationship between countries. The world without this doctrine of helping to each other would be a catastrophe. Smaller and poorer nations, which are facing many problems, namely hunger, nature disasters or crisis, would have already been gone long ago, if there was no international assistance in solving their issues. For instance, it is hard to imagine, how Nepal would handle its last flood incident, if there were no help from other countries, who sent their rescuers.

On the other hand helping other countries also guarantees global peace. There are regions, where political situation is not stable, that leads to many inner conflicts or even wars. I also cannot not to mention ongoing terrorism, that still disturbs our lives globally. Managing such complex events by more democratic, wealthier and more stable countries secures the calmness of millions of people worldwide. To illustrate, I can recall economical crisis in Greece in 2010’s, when other European states provided a range of support. Such European integrity saved the whole region’s economy and proved, that assisting for those, who are in the red, can lead to secured condition of the Union.

For these foregoing reasons, it seems to that supporting countries in need ensure global peace and save lives of people

We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Recently, some people argue that it is unachievable to save all the people who need help; therefore, we need only pay attention to those who are familiar. In my opinion, I partly agree to this argument for the reason that individual powers have limits. Firstly, as I mention in the introduction, each person’s available time […]

Some people believe that we should not help people in other countries as long as there are problems in our own society. I disagree with this view because I believe that we should try to help as many people as possible. On the one hand, I accept that it is important to help our neighbours […]

Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life. Which do you consider to be the major influence? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Whether human personality and development are primarily determined by genetic inheritance or lifetime experience remains a widely debated topic among psychologists and sociologists. While biological traits establish a foundational baseline, I strongly believe that environmental factors and personal experience ultimately exert a more effect on an individual’s character and growth. Proponents of biological determinism argue […]

Nowadays it is likeable that people can hire workers who can do some kinds of chores such as housework, purchasing groceries, and daily child care. While some do not see it as a great job opportunity, I strongly believe that, in today’s world, finding proper work is hard and these opportunities can be considered as […]
