Challenge: One of the most significant issues facing Cambodia today is the increasing threat of climate change. Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and deforestation are causing extensive damage to ecosystems, as well as affecting livelihoods and infrastructure. This situation poses a serious risk to the well-being of millions of people, particularly vulnerable populations in rural areas and coastal communities.
How YSEALI can help: Participating in the YSEALI Academic Fellows Program would equip me with invaluable knowledge and skills to tackle this challenge. I would have the chance to learn from experts in environmental science, policy, and sustainable development. Additionally, the program’s focus on experiential learning would provide me with practical experience in implementing sustainable solutions and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Through YSEALI, I hope to deepen my understanding of strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation. I am especially interested in exploring innovative technologies and policies that can enhance resilience in Cambodian communities. By applying the knowledge and experience I gain, I aim to contribute to the development of effective climate action plans and initiatives in my country.
