Band 7+: With growing number of population in cities, many people are living in small homes that don't have outdoor spaces. Is it positive or negative improvement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There are numerous citizens who reside in small spaces such as flats or apartments, which do not have open areas due to overpopulation. While people can enjoy substantial benefits from this fact, its problems are not to be neglected.

On the one hand, living in tiny accommodations can bring a wide range of merits. Firstly, residents can minimize the cost of construction meaning that the expenses for providing materials for infrastructure will be optimized. As a result, individuals can allocate more money to other aspects of life, involving health care and entertainment. Moreover, citizens are encouraged to use public amenities more because of the limited space in tiny housing. The importance of public areas like parks, libraries, and leisure facilities in improving people’s quality of life is demonstrated by this trend. As more people depend on these facilities, it’s clear how they encourage community and social relationships.

On the other hand, it is crystal clear that residing in small dwellings poses several dangers. To begin with, residents may suffer from various health problems because of lack of natural ventilation. With poor air regulation, diseases which include respiratory issues are spread easily in the community and this will result in reduced quality of life. Additionally, lack of privacy is one of the main concerns when putting people in tightly packed living situations since family members or roommates live in close proximity. Consequently, children reared in these environments may experience a cascading effect, making it more difficult for them to locate a peaceful, private location where they may study and do their schoolwork.

In conclusion, despite obvious advantages of living in a tiny home, its disadvantages seem to be more outstanding.
