Band 4+: With the pressures on today's young people to succeed academically, some people believe that non-academic subjects at school (eg: physical education and cookery) should be removed from the syllabus so that children can concentrate wholly on academic subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree? You should write at least 250 words

Undoubtedly, academic success for young people is a very important subject. Student’s families believe that non-academic subjects at school like physical education and cookery should be removed from the syllabus because students can concentrate only on academic subjects. However, nonacademic subjects are necessary in student’s life.

From one point of view, academic success for young people is a very sensitive subject and it has a direct effect on future life. Also, future work life depends on academic course marks. Plus, if students want to progress in a particular field, they should spend more time on academic subjects. As well as above mentioned view, families should be worried about ‌the student’s academic life.

On the other side, nonacademic subjects are important to students and their lives. Students should learn how to manage their problems solve them and pass through them. The nonacademic course teaches students how to pass a daily routine. Students’ lives are not only academic life and success in this field, it also other aspects of life like social life, emotional life, health life and other important aspects. The purpose and value of these classes are to teach other aspects of life. Plus, these type of activities helps students to Distract themselves from academic subjects for a while and try to heal their mental health.

To come to conclusion, with respect to the views mentioned earlier, I opine that even academic subjects and the future of academic life for students are very important to their families, but I prefer that nonacademic classes should be held in the syllabus of students’ school.
