Today, we should utilize audible insects as food sources because food demands are increasing for a growing population. while some people believe that insects negatively impact nature and health. There are arguments on both sides, however, which we will discuss here.
On the one side, proponents of this view say that nutritious food is the main food source for the human body. However, many communities are currently struggling to access nutrient-rich food sources due to food shortages resulting from climate change, drought, and lack of clean water sources, which directly affect vegetables and food. In addition, the increasing human population is another factor contributing to the demand for food resources. For example, in African countries experiencing food crises, one way to survive is by utilizing mosquitoes, which are processed into a dish called Berger as a food source to meet their nutritional needs
On the other side, however, opponents of insect consumption argue that every species plays an important role in the ecosystem, and both flora and fauna will suffer from the loss of these animals due to the balance present in the habitat. In addition, some types of insects are poisonous and can result in death. As a result, one affected area is the African continent, which is experiencing a surge in mosquito-borne infections, including malaria and dengue fever, putting immense pressure on the healthcare system.
In conclusion, while there are compelling arguments both for and against the utilization of insects as a food source, it is clear that careful consideration must be given to the implications of such practices. The advantages of addressing food shortages and providing nutritious options are significant, yet they must be weighed against the risks posed to health and ecological stability.
