In the modern world, transport pollution has emerged as one of the most primary concerns across different countries. In order to mitigate this issue, government should invest more in public transport systems as well as reduce the ticket prices. Additionally, there are other ways to solve this problem, which will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly, government should make the public transport facilities such as bus, prams, autos convenient to the public. This could be done by investing more in making buses so that people would not prefer to opt for their own vehicles. For example, in cities like Delhi and Bangalore, pollution occurs due to excessive use of private vehicles. Even an individual who travels to work, would choose to drive car which occupies more space leading to traffic as well as air pollution.
If there are more buses available in the city at a cheaper rate, transport pollution will decrease to a greater extent. Secondly, it is also an individual’s responsibility to opt other harmless mode of transport such as bicycles or even walk, if the destination is at the closer proximity. Furthermore, creating awareness among the public through campaigns or programs would help them understand the hazardous effect of carbon dioxide emission due to road transports. As a result, citizens would get discouraged to use cars and opt for bicycles for commuting to nearby places.
Undoubtedly, the air pollution creates a huge impact in people’s well being and survival therefore individual’s responsibility to use bicycles and government to encourage people to use more public transport by providing facilities at cheaper prices would certainly make a huge contribution in reducing pollution.
