When talking about the most effective people in your life, you can’t forget about friends. Even though it is not always easy to spot their influences on yourself, we all can agree that daily communication with a specific person can change individuals. Either for the best or the worst.
Despite all these facts, I have not yet succeeded in detecting those influences. So, I preferred to talk about all of my close friends.
I have a few friends who I hang out with. I’ve met all of them in school, but each in a different year. Which means that I’ve known them for at least a good five years. Throughout these years, I learned many things, most of which are not understandable if you don’t have a friend.
I have learned that not everyone deserves a chance. Sometimes people themselves are not willing enough to change. I used to think that you could trust your friends if you were close. But it turned out to be a naive belief. I have learned that the closest ones are also the ones who can be worse than an enemy. Don’t get me wrong; my friends are actually kind-hearted. However, at the end of the day, it is always you and yourself only. We all have different flaws, but we have something in common. Selfishness, which cannot be broken unless with true love.
All in all, that is what years of having close friends have taught me. I still stand my ground and believe that these influences haven’t been done by one person, and it is rather accomplished by spending time with different people.
