As one strives to achieve better results in the ever-competitive nature of life, one may encounter hardship and suffer from failures along the way. Apropos confronting such failures, some may associate them with the lack of ambition. However, it is my fervent contention that the aforesaid rationale is not the mere factor deciding the fate of outcomes, due to the following contemplation in this discourse.

At one end of the spectrum, to a certain extent, insufficient cravings can culminate in one’s breakdown. Desire can play a pivotal role in engendering intrinsic motivations, providing willpower for individuals to persistently improve themselves in pursuit of their targeted dreams or aims. Accordingly, not enough aspiration so as to achieve those targets could result in being demotivated and lost within the intricacies of life. Especially when encountering hardships, which act as a crucible for human perseverance, people are even prone to discouragement and surrender by virtue of lack of desire, ultimately hindering the progress and potential and rendering them doomed to failure.

At the other end, while strong desire may propel an individual to faster growth, it is not the sole determinant of both success and failure. A myriad of other conditions and factors may bolster or obstruct one process of achieving success. The inadequacy of resources, mentorship, or financial support is considered a significant obstacle for one’s pathway to success, which can be exemplarily manifested via well-performed students, who are matriculated to enroll in the top-tier colleges but do not have enough financial backing to pay the fees, taxes, and other costs to pursue tertiary education. Additionally, other circumstances and external factors, such as unforeseen events, economic downturns, systematic barriers, or even misfortune, can also contribute to the likelihood of failures, like a potentially thriving company can stand on the verge of bankruptcy because of an earthquake damaging facilities and human resources.

In conclusion, while desire can undoubtedly fuel ambition and drive, it is not the sole predictor of success or failure. A cornucopia of external factors and internal circumstances can significantly influence outcomes. Therefore, it is imperative to recognize the multifaceted nature of achievement and to cultivate a balanced perspective that acknowledges the importance of both desire and other essential elements, such as resilience, adaptability, and a supportive environment.
