How we, as a society, choose to utilize the planets resourses has triggered a neccessary discussion across the globe. Whilst some suggest reserving government funding in search for oil and fossil fuels is crucial, others argue that developing renewable sources of power is of utmost importance. Since, the world’s natural resources are extremely limited and as the population and demand grows, sustainable energy sources such as wind, solar and hrydro ought to be further explored.

Despite, the exorbidant prices attached to the research and development required for reneawbale sources of energy, it is quintessential that local municipalities and governments start focusing their budgets on greener and imperishable power. Moreover, drilling in search for oil is not only fostering global warming but also altering the vast geographical terrain that could be potentailly inhabitaed and house homeless people. For instance, several nations could come together to create funding and raise awareness regarding sustainable energy sources.

On the contrary, the usage of oil is familiar territory and many less and under developed countries are economically dependent on the export and import of oil, making it exceedingly challenging to eradicate or lessen its use. It’s more convinient to harness energy from oil which can be attributed to the accessibility and avalaibility of oil reserves. It’s not only found under dry land but also deep in the ocean. Furthermore, not every country has the viable option to spend essential finances on advanced technology and production costs when they have more pressing issues at hand to deal with like housing, poverty and rising crime rates.

In conclusion, while I understand the viewpoint of looking for more oil, it is imperative to view the research on other sustainable sources of energy as equally important and ought to be further investigated upon.
