It is considered by many that online entertainment is more significant than watching films in cinemas and attending theater performances in today’s world, while some individuals believe that these traditional forms are essential for culture and the economy.
In contemporary society, digital media has become increasingly popular as it provides greater convenience. This is mainly because many people have easy access to the internet, allowing them to browse and enjoy their favorite movies without traveling to a physical venue. For example, streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime Video offer a wide range of films that viewers watch on smartphones, tablets, and laptops at any given time. As a result, they tend to save a considerable amount of time and effort, which allows them to spend more time on other activities.
On the other hand, attending theatrical productions and going to cinemas are likely to contribute to economic growth, since they create employment opportunities for many individuals. These industries require a large number of employees such as talented performers, maintenance staff, and stage managers who are essential for delivering high-quality performances. For this reason, these sectors can reduce unemployment rates and directly support the local economy. Furthermore, these forms of entertainment play an important role in preserving cultural heritage, as they can portray traditional narratives and historical events to younger generations. Consequently, many individuals can develop a stronger sense of cultural identity and a greater appreciation for their historical roots.
In conclusion, although digital entertainment offers more convenience, cinemas and theatrical productions provide significant economic and cultural benefits. From my perspective, traditional entertainment should not be completely replaced by digital media.
