Nowadays, some people argue that in the computer age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Meanwhile, others believe that theatres and cinemas are crucial both economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I support the latter view.
On the one hand, in the digital age theatres and cinemas are not necessary. This is because at present, the internet and social media have developed, and they provide people with the opportunity to watch all the entertainment they want online at home. For example, people can watch new movies on their gadgets and they do not need to go to the cinema, and it is really useful. In addition, for introverts it is a really helpful thing to watch all the entertainment which they want online. Currently technology has developed significantly, and it is the reason why technologies have more privilege than theatres and cinemas.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas are important for the economy and culture. This is because people need work and the government can share jobs which are related to cinemas and theatres. Owing to this, government will have employees who can play a crucial role in economy. From my perspective, theatres and cinemas are important because they can educate people culturally and intellectually while also contributing to their ethical and aesthetic development. For example, watching historical plays can help people learn about the past. Moreover, theatres preserve cultural traditions and promote a deeper understanding of society.
In conclusion, although theatres and cinemas will be no important in the future, I believe that theatres and cinemas will continue to play an important role in society. This is because they still provide social and cultural benefits to society.
