In recent times, most countries enhance their living standard via economic development. However, certain social values can disappear. From my perspective, the benefits were overshadowed by the drawbacks.
One notable demerit of this phenomenon is that the environment will be significantly degraded. Specifically, the employees endeavor to produce more and reduce operational costs, which can be more profitable for them. What they do is that they keep discharging wastewater into waterways, such as rivers, lakes, oceans, which can lead to water pollution. For instance, in Vietnam nowadays, there is an accumulative number of factories, which discharge unprocessed water directly into the To Lich rivers. Thus, this river is gradually polluted and it experiences rancidity. Another drawback is that people gradually lose sympathy and concern towards others. In other words, individuals can spend most of their time accomplishing their works without concerning other people. For example, in a certain family, parents can pay too much attention to their work to earn a living, but they may ignore their children. This can lead to the lack of sympathy and also depression of their children.
However, the benefits of this trend cannot be ignored. The people’s quality of life is guaranteed. Specifically, taxes paid by individuals and businesses can be a stable resource for the government to construct and improve more important facilities, such as the hospitals, schools. Therefore, the quality of people’s life can be improved significantly.
In conclusion, while the financial revolution can offer benefits related to guaranteeing people’s lives, it also has some profound demerits, such as the issues relevant to the environment and family affection. In addition, the government should impose strict laws to improve the state of the current environment.
