It is often argued that universities should offer free educational programs for everyone. Others claim that students should pay for their own education. Although free education is convenient for individuals from low-income families, I partly disagree with this opinion, as some students waste educational resources without clear goals.
On the one hand, university education should be free for everyone, as it provides equal opportunities for all students. As a result, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds become as highly educated as students from wealthy or average families. For instance, in many countries the government funds special education programs that help students with disabilities study at universities.
On the other hand, another group of people consider that students should finance their own education. When people invest their own money, they take their studies more seriously. Moreover, some young people may attend university without genuine interest, taking places that could have been given to more motivated students.
In conclusion, while some people believe that university education should be free, others argue that students should pay for it.
Personally, I suppose that a balanced approach would be the most effective solution
