These days, job opportunities are often limited for people due to insufficient development in countries or cities, resulting in fewer available fields. As a result, individuals may need to relocate away from their family and friends in search of better prospects to earn money. Working away from home presents both benefits and drawbacks for individuals. In this essay, I will discuss my analysis and opinions on these two aspects.
One common reason why people seek employment in other countries or cities is the potential for higher income. Despite receiving reasonable pay for working in their hometown, individuals with ambitious financial goals may choose to prioritize earning a larger income over spending time with their families. Moreover, younger individuals may seek new challenges to enhance their skills and knowledge, making moving away from home a valuable opportunity for personal growth. For instance, in my hometown, recent graduates often opt to find jobs in Ho Chi Minh City rather than Can Tho City to further their skills and earn higher rewards.
On the other hand, individuals who leave their close relationships behind in search of a better environment may face challenges on their own. The lack of support from family and friends can make these challenges even more difficult to overcome. Additionally, when individuals fully commit to their work, they may find themselves dedicating all their time to their tasks, limiting their opportunities to spend time with loved ones. For example, employees may only have the chance to visit family and friends during special occasions annually, as they must devote most of their time to work and earning a living.
In summary, the advantages of working far from home include higher earning potential and personal growth, while the main disadvantage is the limited time available for family and friends. Personally, I place more emphasis on the drawbacks of this situation, as I believe that time spent with loved ones is more valuable than financial gain.
