First and foremost, people should recognize the fact that politicians have the authority and resources to implement large-scale environmental strategies. There are undeniable advantages to this, as they can enact legislation, allocate funds for sustainable projects, and engage in international agreements aimed at conserving the environment. For example, the implementation of the Paris Agreement largely depends on political will and cooperation. Furthermore, one further justification which should not be ignored here is that politicians can influence public behavior through policies. This means that by setting standards and regulations, they can enforce certain environmentally friendly practices on a wide scale. A good case in point would be the ban on single-use plastics in multiple countries, which was made possible through political action.

On the other hand, there are some reasons against the statement that only politicians should be responsible. It is important to remember that individual actions, when multiplied across millions of people, can significantly impact the environment. In other words, everyday choices such as reducing waste, using public transportation, and conserving energy contribute to environmental protection.
