Reportedly, in recent years, people have preferred to move away from their relatives and friends in their hometowns for jobs or to study. This decision has serious upsides and downsides. In my opinion, there are more advantages than disadvantages to moving away.
On the one hand, traveling to other parts of the world is usually a major decision in an individual’s life. Those who have experienced life abroad will usually feel homesick and unfamiliar with the culture and people. For example, a certain number of people will be reminded of lovely moments with families and friends. Another issue is that some will find it hard to make friends in a new environment, often leading to loneliness and potentially mental health issues. Therefore, those who decide to do so need to be mentally prepared.
On the other hand, migrating to a new environment could completely change lives. A common advantage is that it could mean they could elevate their careers and educational levels. This means better job opportunities, and they will receive better pay compared to their hometowns. Moreover, they will get to experience different cultures, make new connections, and build new relationships. For instance, a large number of students nowadays are choosing to study abroad in developed countries because they offer better positions and wages compared to their nations, often less developed ones.
In conclusion, choosing to live in a different environment could cause some downsides, such as minor mental health issues. While there are more worthwhile upsides, such as greater job opportunities and experiencing new cultures and people.
