In this world today, many famous people are seen like a ‘role model’ for young people. They have more and more influence on the young. I think this is a negative development in general, because famous people can make bad examples for young people, but it also has some good sides.
First, the big problem is that famous people are not always good people. Some of them do bad things, like drinking too much or fighting with other people. When young people see these things, they may think it is okay to do bad things too. For example, if a young person sees a singer driving very fast, they may want to drive fast also and this is dangerous. Also, famous people’s life is about being rich and pretty, and this make young people feel sad about their own life. They want to be rich fast, not work hard.
However, I agree that famous people can be a good example sometimes. A famous sports person who works very hard to win can teach young people about hard working and never giving up. For instance, a famous tennis player who trains every day shows the young that effort is important to success.
In my opinion, the negative part is stronger than the positive part. Famous people are not teachers or parents, they are just for entertainment. Young people should look for role models in their family or their school, who are real people with real good value.
In conclusion, I think the increasing influence of famous role models is more negative. Young people should be careful about who they follow, and they should look for better examples in their close life.
