The advancement of technology and modern digital era slowly affecting individuals’ interests in many ways. Everything has become so accessible and convenient where we can learn and explore new things online easily. Hence, this is causing more people to divert their focus and time to other interests rather than devoting their time to hobbies nowadays.
Many younger generations spend most of their time on digital gadgets and recent innovation of artificial intellegence to explore new ideas and interests, thereby evolving from the traditional participation of physical activities and hobbies. Eventually, the children will avoid mingling with the society and gradually lost touch with the world, affecting them to lose their self-confidence. Meanwhile, I am a millennial and during my era, technologies weren’t this advanced and amazing. Therefore, I spent most of my childhood on general hobbies like drawing, sewing and other physical activities while socializing with others.
Additionally, a coutry’s economic will collapse and businesses are falling apart attributable to the drastic decrease in people devoting their time to actual hobbies. An unhealthy vicious cycle of the society’s concerns and future growth would definitely effect the younger generations as well as social and economic stability. One best example is China, research shown that China citizens spent most of their time investing on technologies and digital gadgets, the involvement of hobbies like outdoor activities have been reduced dramatically. As a result, many young people are getting more diseases and mental illness due to lack of exercises and excessive exposure to monitor screens and infraray.
In conclusion, I agreed that keeping abreast with the latest technology skills and experiences are important. However, people should also adopt a balance lifestyle and maintaining their hobbies in a healthier manner.
