Band 5+: Young people in the modern world seem to have more power and influence than any previous young generation. Why is this the case? What impact does this have on the relationship between old and young people?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In modern society young people seem to have more influence in comparison to previous generations . This phenomenon raises concerns about the potential impact on relationships of different age groups . Despite all these challenges I believe that, people could still live harmoniously in a collaborative environment.

Nowadays the existence of social media has completely changed the way we view and interact with world. Putting the effect of younger generation in perspective, they’ve largely obtained that through their association with internet. For example, many influencers and celebrities achieve fame more rapidly than the older generation used to which is due to the power of advertising on different platforms and social channels. If people get to watch one advertisement repeatedly they’ll most likely be persuaded to purchase it or many adolescents aspire to achieve the lifestyle most famous people claim to have. These are all due to the influence of marketing using social networks.

In this regard, there have been many concerns on the consequences it could have on the relationship between elderly and youngsters. Having lived in extremely distinctive eras they might encounter many contradictory views. Many elderly people are not familiar with the latest trends and developments. Thus they might have different perspectives in a comparison with younger people . This disparity might lead to many conflicts and as a result distance them both. Therefore misunderstandings and lack of comprehension can significantly deteriorate the relationship between generations.

In conclusion , while social media and advertising can strain the ties between generations it is noteworthy that by embracing diverse view points and respect people of every age can still coexist in a hostile world .
