Youngsters used to show more respect and politeness in the past. However, they lack these potential qualities nowadays. I illustrate some causes and solutions of this situation.
One of the main causes why youngsters tend to be less polite and respectful is the imbalance between work and life. In the previous time, teenagers were being taught ethical values and moral values by their parents, which gave them sense of being more polite and respectful to the elders and to their juniors. In this modern era, parents do not have much time to spend with their children, and make them learn these essential life skills. Another reason of less politeness and disrespectfulness is technology pervasion meaning that the usage of smart gadgets has increased dramatically by young people. In addition, they show more interest in playing games and social media than learning valuable lessons from their elders, such as how to be more respectful and what makes our tone to sound polite.
First solution of this issue is balancing work-life by parents. This can be done by spending some quality time with youngsters, and attending extracurricular activities, such as communication classes, and sports which will help to teach young people how to respect others and what are the useful ways to speak politely. The second solution is encouraging youngsters to watch educational videos, for instance, effective communication videos. Moreover, practicing at home about how they can sound polite is a good start for the young people.
In conclusion, hectic schedules and technology make youngsters less polite and respectful. On the other hand, spending time with them and using technology in a productive way, such as communicational videos would be useful to the young people to be more polite and respectful.
