The bar chart compares the number of men who participated in senior development positions in three different industries—namely IBM, Microsoft, and Apple—from 1980 to 2010.
It is clear that the male contributors in senior development positions in IBM and Microsoft increased throughout the given period. By contrast, despite being highest at the beginning, Apple’s numbers fluctuated during the same time.
To begin, the proportion of male contributors in IBM was about 3% in 1980; this figure then rose to its highest peak approximately 65% in 2010. Between 1980 and 2010, there was a rise of 10% male participants in Microsoft from about 7% to 17%.
Initially, Apple accounted for 15% in 1980, which made up the biggest part of the chart than the other two.This number saw slight fluctuation until2000 with the percentage about 21%. In 2010, Apple male participants went up a little around 25%.
