The given picture depicts the shift in a city from 1950 to the present.
At first glance, it is explicit that the city has experienced a significant expansion in the site of residential area. In addition, another noticeable point is that the city witnessed an exponential increase in the number of residents.
In 1950, the residential area was located in the middle top of the map which covered the top half part of the business district in the middle. Meanwhile the business district is the intersection of 4 major roads. Moreover, there was a river running from the left side of the map to the South-East part and a bridge was constructed because one of 4 main roads crossed the river.
At the present, the population rapidly grew from 20000 to 200000 since an extension was recorded that the residential area fully surrounded the business district and the government building. Additionally, an extra prime road was created with the construction of a new bridge on that road while the river became the lake in the residential area and a dam was built at the end of the lake at bottom right corner. Furthermore, the government building which used to situated below the first bridge was relocated to the bottom of the map.
