Admittedly, government should focus on people from their own country and there are several reasons for this, among which the most conspicuous one is a fact that the election of government officers and taxes from residents, making the service for domestic individuals the most important responsibility. Generally, governments are selected to represent and serve the interest of people within jurisdiction, and reasonably utilize taxes from citizens to create better life conditions and benefits for them. For example, tax-payers money is normally allocated to sectors such as healthcare, education and infrastructure. In this way can society equality and people’s happiness index be enhanced, and are more likely to become contributing and productive members to the society. Some countries, for instance, try to send medical assistance and food supplies to Africa. However, due to poor transportation service and complex climate condition, they have spent a large amount of funds, leading to a result that they would be under financial pressure to take care of their local citizens.
However, it is necessary for governments to provide international aid because interconnections of the world cause the demands of international assistance to solute problems related to the whole world. To be more specific, substantial challenges faced with are international, such as climate change, pandemics and poverty, all of which call for governments to transcend national borders for a solution. Furthermore, providing other nations assistance within one’s power is conductive to enhance reputation and influence on the international stage. To elucidate it further, engaging in international assistance helps boost a nation’s image, which can lead to diplomatic benefits and potential reciprocity in times of needs.
In conclusion, government should provide international supports as much as possible as this approach not only better addresses domestic needs but also yields additional benefits.
