The diagrams display the modifications that have taken place at West Park Secondary School across 1950, 1980 and 2010.
Overall, the area around the school had undergone changes drastically since 1950. The changes involve the demolition of houses, re-purposing of few areas and addition of amenities.
Originally the layout was divided into four equal sections and each of which had a distinct purpose. A school and row of houses were located closest to the main road. A playground was situated right in front of the school and the land beside was dedicated for farming.
By 1980, all the houses beside the school had been demolished. A car park and science block have been constructed in the newly available space. Furthermore, the farmland was dug up and repurposed into a sports field.
By 2010, the car park had been expanded further down to occupy the area where the sports field was originally located. Furthermore, a portion of the playground was dug up to make space for the relocation of the sports field.
