The table provides information on the percentage of students(kindergarten to grade 8) home schooled in a particular nation between 1999 and 2004.
Overall, the number of students that are home schooled increases for each category. The smallest increase in the percentage of students home schooled is for kindergarten, meanwhile the largest increase in percentage of students home schooled is for grades 5-6.
The percentage of children increases gradually for kindergarten throughout the period, only plateauing between 2002 and 2003 at 2.7%. This was followed by a sharp increase to 2.9%. It had the highest percentage throughout the period. Grades 3-4 follow a similar pattern and increase linearly, from 1.6% in 1999 to 2.2% in 2004. The number of children home schooled for grade 7-8 remains constant at first, at 1.6%. Following which it climbs steeply to 2.2 after which is steadily increases to 2.5% by 2004.
Percentage of children home schooled for Grades 1-2 drops from 1.5 to 1.2 between 1999 and 2000. This is followed by a steady increase in the number of students home schooled for these grades. Peaking at 2.1%, it remained they remained the least opted grade to home-school children. Additionally, number of students home schooled for grades 5-6 also decreases from 1.5 to 1.3 and remains stagnant till 2001. Following this the number rises sharply to 2.6 by 2004.
