The two pie charts illustrate the proportions of five different reasons why people either chose to leave or stay in the United Kingdom.
Overall, quality of life was the most significant factor influencing both decisions. In contrast, the weather was the least cited reason for staying, while joining family and friends was the least common reason for leaving.
Regarding those who left the UK, the most significant reason was quality of life, accounting for 34%, followed by the weather (22%) and financial resources (20%). Employment was the fourth most cited reason at 15%, and only 9% of people decided to leave the UK due to their family and friends.
As for those who decided to stay, 40% of individuals continually stayed in the UK for their quality of life, making it the most common reason. Financial resources were the second most common reason (30%), while employment and being with family and friends accounted for 13% and 10%, respectively. The weather was the least cited reason to remain, at only 7%.
