The line graph illustrates information about the number of single-family homes built in the United States by region over a period of six years.

Overall, the number of single-family houses constructed in all four parts of the United States decreased significantly except for the number of houses built in Southern part of the US. The number of single-family houses constructed in Southern part of the US dropped dramatically. The number of single-family houses constructed in Southern part had the highest rate among all four parts of the US, while the number of single-family houses constructed in Northeastern part of the US had the lowest rate over a period of six years.

The number of single-family houses built in Southern part of the US declined from around 900.000 in 2006 to nearly 300.000 in 2010, but it increased to approximately 340.000 in 2012. The number fo single-family homes constructed in Northeastern part of the US decreased from around 180.000 in 2006 to nearly 10.000 in 2012.

The number of single-family homes constructed in Miswestern of the US decreased from around 290.000 in 2006 to nearly 100.000 in 2012. The number of single-family houses built in Western part of the US declined from around 480.000 in 2006 to nearly 130.000 in 2012.
