The line graph illustrates the number of inquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in a single city over six months in 2011.
Overall, the number of inquiries received by two methods (‘in person’ and ‘by telephone’) generally increased throughout the period. However, the number of inquiries via letter and email declined. In-person inquiries surpassed the other two methods to become the most popular.
At the beginning of the period, in-person inquiries were the least popular method with just over 400. This number witnessed a significant rise, surpassing the other two methods and reaching its high point of around 1900 inquiries at the end of the period. In January, inquiries by telephone were the most popular method at approximately 900. After some slight fluctuations until April, the number experienced a sharp increase, reaching its high point of around 1600 at the end of the period.
As for inquiries by letter or email, they started as the second most popular method with roughly 750 inquiries in January. Then, they witnessed a considerable decrease to just under 400 in May and remained steady for the rest of the period.
