Many people believe that children should be taught by parents to be a good person in society. However, some think schools are the ideal place to learn the moral values. In my opinion, although schools have to teach the students both academically and socially, it is better for the children to learn from the parents.
On one side of the argument, there are people who hold the opinion that learning at school is the preferable way for the kids. The most compelling reason for believing this is that, the curriculums are specifically tailored to develop a child’s both at academic and society. Encouraging group activities helps children improving their social skills and be a good member of the team. Moreover, teachers are always monitoring and providing the guidance that children might needed. Another reason is that by going to school, children automatically grab the opportunity to build their social circle. As human, we all need our own society to learn the lessons of life and grow up from every aspect. For instance, having fun at school helps a child to learn about moral values, communication, and how to fit in their related society.
Despite the above argument, I am of the view that parents teaching the child is the best method. Indeed, one reason why I take this view is that parents are the first teachers for an individual. As a child, they would imitate their parents; people they saw in their environment. For example, most of the habitual things of a lot of kids come from one of their parents. Furthermore, it is my opinion that parents are the only human beings who love a child, accepting both light and shadow sides of the child. Through ups and downs, father and mother do their best to nurture their child to become good person. This is the reason why the influence of parents’ teaching guided towards a better life for many people.
In conclusion, while both views are commonly held in society, I believe that parents teach children to live well in society is better than schools do. This is because father and mother have more time to be with the child compared to schools and even thought curriculums let the children learn about social values, they need mentors who would help and guide them most of the time. Given this situation, parents should be more encouraged to teach their kids.
