Overall, despite the widely different changes, the amount of money made by workers in financial services and telecommunications were the highest in both years, while a worker in tourism earned the most modest salary levels. Also, the annual salary across all these sectors followed an upward trajectory in this decade-long period.
On the one hand, workers in the financial services and telecommunications sectors earned more per year compared to the average level. For an employee in the financial sector, although they made around 110,000 USD per year in 2000, their salary increased even more, eraching about 130,000 USD in 2010. Furthermore, the amount of the money earned by a worker in telecommunications increased more moderately, from about 62,000 USD to 70,000 USD in the same period.
On the other hand, in the four remaning fields, workers’ income per year was lower or roughly equal to the average levels of 44,000 USD in 2000 and 50,000 USD in 2010. A largely stable annual salary level was made by people in the fields of tourism (20,000 USD) and administration (42,000 USD). Nevertheless, the salary levels of employees in transport and retail/shops increased more significantly, from 42,000 USD to 50,000 USD and about 38,000 USD to 45,000 USD, respectively.
