The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of fuel from renewable energy used in the transport field in six European Union countries namely Slovakia, Australia, France, Poland, Spain, Greece from 2009 to 2010 and compared these data to the average.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were upward trends in the figure for Slovakia and Austria while the opposite was true for Poland, Spain and Greece. Another interesting point is that there was no remarkable change in using renewable energy fuel for transportation in France.
Looking at the chart for more detail, in 2009, the top of the list in using sustainable fuel source was Slovakia at 9.3 %, followed by Austra at 6.5 %. In the next year, these two figures witnessed considerable decreases to 7.9 and 5.1 % respectively. Meanwhile, the percentage of fuel generated from renewable energy for transportation maintained a consistent value of 6.1 % from 2009 through 2010.
Regarding data of three remaining countries, the figure for Poland had the highest percentage among three nations, at 5% in 2009 and increased to 6.1 % which was in the same level with France. Besides, the proportion of renewable energy fuel used in transportation in Spain and Greece also rose from 3.5% to 4.8% and 1.2% to 2% respectively between 2009 and 2010. Finally, the average of 6 countries had an increase from 4.1 % to 4.8 % during 2009 and 2010.
