The pie chart illustrates the sales of internet shopping of retail sectors in New Zealand between a 10-year period of 2003 and 2013.
Overall, people in New Zealand relied heavily on travel and outfits in 2003, but the trend shifted to film and music in ten years time. Both commute and clothes experienced a dramatic decrease in 2013, while books experienced a slight increase over the years.
To begin with, travel made up the biggest share in 2003 with an amount of 36%, and clothing came a close second with 24%. Film and music, as well as books, placed last with 21% and 19% in numbers, respectively.
In 2013, the trend changed dramatically. Travel no longer became the highest as film and music took its place and contributed precisely one-third of the pie. Despite the decline of commuting sector to 29%, it still managed to place second. The number of New Zealand residents who bought books rose slightly to 22%, but they did not spend their money as much as in the past for outfits since it only amounted 16% and placed last.
