The table shows data regarding the price of minimal everyday water intake in five different countries.
Overall, the table illustrates a difference between the UK and the US and the remaining three Asian countries. In both the UK and the US, the purchase of water has a minimal impact on the daily salary of the citizens, while in Tanzania, Pakistan, and Uganda, a bigger portion of the daily salary is required to be invested in purchasing water.
In terms of US dollars and percentages, the individual cost shows a tendency to be higher in Asian and African countries. Tanzania presents the highest price with 6.4 cents (or 5.7%), whereas Uganda and Pakistan have 4.1 cents and 1.7 cents, respectively (or 3.2% and 1.1%). The lowest cost in the table is associated with the US at 0.8 cents (0.0083%), followed by the UK with 1.3 cents (0.013%). Although the difference is not as significant when presented in US dollars, the percentages clearly show a dramatic contrast between the last two countries and the rest, as the percentage of the daily salary increases drastically in the countries at the top of the table.
