The statistics illustrate how many international students studied abroad over a 6-year period, starting from 2000.
Overall, with the exception of country B, the number of international students in five countries witnessed an upward trend. Among all the five, country A held the top spot during the entire surveyed period.
In 2000, the students studying abroad of country A, which was the highest figure among all the countries, at 111.300 students. The next place went to country B, with 90892 students travelled to study, nearly double the figure for country C and around triple that of country D. At the bottom of the list came the number of international students in country E, with 11008 students studying this country.
Thereafter, there was a notable increase to 192.389 students in the number of international students in country A, followed by a slightly drop to 187.652 students for the following 2 years. In contrast, country B saw a significant decrease to 77.567 students in the number of students studying abroad in 2004, before witnessing a gradual increase to 82.457 students at the end of the period. Meanwhile, the figures for country C, D and E underwent a surge, reaching a peak of 89.421, 34.010 and 13.890 students, respectively.
