The line graph gives information about the monthly usage of four different means of transport in a European urban area during the 50-year period from 1980 to 2030.
Overall, there has been an increase in the commonality of three vehicles since 1980, including subway, tram, and bike share, while a slight decrease has been witnessed in the usage of buses. In addition, bike share is a modern green transportation as it appeared later in 2000.
Subway consistently had the highest figure throughout the period, whose number started at 2.5 million, after which it experienced a gradual rise and is projected to be the means of transport for 4 million people in the final year of the period. The pattern is similar with the monthly ridership for the tram; under 0.5 million residents decided to use the tram in the area examined, with a moderate growth to precisely 2 million usages in 2030.
As a new green transport, the figure for Bike Share began at around 0.2 million, after which it is predicted to climb marginally and stand at 0.5 million in 2030. Meanwhile, the number of people commuting by bus has experienced a decline by around 0.5 million, from 1.5 million at the beginning to under 1 million at the end.
