Throughout hundreds of years, humans tried to find a way to express themselves, but could not do it , until they discovered art. In ancient times they would write on the walls. Forms of art keep evolving even until this day. That is why many people believe that art is essential for humanity, while others think differently. The other group believes that art is unnecessary. I agree with the first group. In this essay, I will explain why, and give my arguments in favor of my beliefs.
My first argument is that art is a key part of preserving our culture. I have been to many museums all around Poland, but none of them helped me to understand my country’s culture as well as art museums. This is because of all the paintings and sculptures which are placed in these faculties. Painters would depict how life was before we were born, with their masterpieces. And sculptors would show us how people used to look in the past. We would know very little of them if not for these masters and their work.
Another reason behind my view is that art helps us in parenting children. When toddlers do not know how to write or speak they prefer to paint or write random things. Studies show that by doing it they want to communicate with their parents. This way they can understand what their kids want better, thus making the youngling happier. By painting they also learn how to show their emotions, making them less stressed and happier.
Moreover art helps us concentrate and eliminates stress. Many psychologists use many variants of art to work with their patients. Medical sources say that by doing art, our brains relax, thus making us much happier and less susceptible to stress. From my own experience as an ADHD patient, I would go to art classes in school so I could focus better during lessons and actually learn something.
Summarizing, art was essential in preserving our culture by creating masterpieces. It also helps us relax and learn new things such as precision or patience. I also believe that it holds a very important role in helping younger and older people with physical diseases, and mental disorders such as ADHD
