It is widely believed that the main reason for studying is to equip the students to be effectively beneficial to the community. While others argue that education should essentially enable people attain long time goals. This essay will explicitly discuss both views after which I will give my stance.
On one hand, a significant number of people who believe that the initial objective of acquiring knowledge in school is to enable the students to gather a wide range of skills and experiences useful for a noble and functional citizens in the society. In addition, the morals, values and norms learnt in the school ought to enhance cultural heritage and stability therefore, sustains the existence of the society.
On the other hand, those who argue that education should enable people successfully accomplished their future career claim that the lesson learnt in schools increases the students creativity and intelligent quotient which incite them to set an attainable and realistic goals. Moreover, they believe that it is the responsibility of the tutors to work on the student to achieve the aspired targets. For example, a student who long to be a medical doctor has to attend science classes during high school and attend an accredited medical school to be licenced as a medical doctor. If the student was not groomed and trained in the medical school, such achievement would not be possible. The aforementioned points justified their stance.
In my opinion, The main focus of education should be to achieve the set targets successfully as this will open ways for potential careers and benefit the society and the country as a whole.
In conclusion, although many people opine that the primary reason for education is to train an individual to fit and be useful in the society, while others claim that it should groom people and enable them to achieve their future talents. I will argue that the later is greatly essential, not only to the person involved but also to the general public. However, morals and cultural value should also be taught at school, but not as the main course in order create more meaningful time for career lectures.
