The internet has evolve the way we talk to one another. Almost all the communication that takes place nowadays happens through social media. While some individuals are back up this claim and are of the view that this is a positive advancement. Others are compelled to beleive thtat social media has adverse effects.

Social media has transformed communication by making it faster, more affordable, and more accessible, allowing people to stay connected with loved ones effortlessly. However, it also has drawbacks, such as reducing face-to-face interactions and spreading of misinformation.

Social media is a powerful tool of modern day advancement. It has quickly taken over the world and incoperated itself into our daily lives and how we talk to one another. This is said to be a positive change as it has made our lives easier and has made communication with one another much quicker and affordable as opposed to mails, phone calls and text messaging. It is free of cost and helps us stay connected to our loved ones. For example in the past it would take days if not months for people to get letters across to try to talk to their family and friends but now its just a click away, through social media.

Some believe that social media can negatively impact our lives as it often reduces real-life interactions, which can weaken personal relationships. Constant exposure to others’ social media activities can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. Additionally, misinformation spreads easily on these platforms, misleading people and affecting their views. A research showed that 81% of social media users lack self esteem after idealising other people’s lifestyles.

In conclusion, while social media has revolutionized communication by making it faster and more accessible, it also presents significant challenges. Its benefits include improved connectivity and reduced communication costs, but these advantages come with drawbacks such as diminished face-to-face interactions, increased feelings of inadequacy, and the rapid spread of misinformation. Balancing its use and being mindful of its impact is crucial for maximizing its positive aspects while mitigating its negative effects.
