In 1990, coal emission were the highest at 310 million tones, followed by oil (270 million tones)and gas (220 million tones) five years later, in 1995, coal emissions dropped slightly to 280 million tones while gas increased 270 million tones and oil emissions decreased to 280 million tones. By 2000, gas emissions surpassed coal and oil, reaching 300 million tones, whereas coal and oil emission both stood 250 million tones. In 2005, gas emissions peaked at 310, while coal continued to decline to 230 million tones, and oil emissions decreased slightly to 240 million tones.
Finally, in 2010, gas emissions reached their highest level at 320 million tones, while coal emissions fell dramatically to 180 million tones, become the lowest among the three, oil emissions also dropped to 210 million tones.
